Access and Permissions
Ensure you have the necessary permissions to access AWS resources and perform upgrades on EKS and RDS.
IAM roles and policies should be in place for executing scripts and commands.
Tools and Software
AWS CLI installed and configured.
kubectl CLI configured with access to the Kubernetes cluster.
Access to any monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Kafka-UI) used for Kafka and other services.
terraform CLI.
Environment and Dependencies
Verify that the upgrade will be compatible with the current environment and dependencies.
Ensure no ongoing critical operations that might be affected by the upgrade.
Intimation / Communication
Notify stakeholders about the upgrade schedule and potential downtime.
Provide regular updates to Project Manager.
