The objective of the release is to enable advance payment features in the DIGIT Platform. The products which are built over DIGIT will be able to now enable advance payment feature. The prupose behind enabling advance payment is to improve ease of payment for the citizen and avoid efforts of making payments every month.

3. Generate Payment Receipt showing the excess payment

The ability for Citizen to Pay more than Due Amount

The citizen will now able to enter the amount he/she would like to pay against the particular bill. This will help citizens to make the payment well in advance reduce their effort to make bill payments every billing cycle. Respective UI changes are made on a common pay screen.

Adjustment of advance (excess amount) against the demand generated

If the citizen has paid the amount in advance, the next bill which will be generated will have the advance adjusted head. This will help citizens to know what is advance amount adjusted from previous payment and how much he should pay for current billing cycle.

Payment Receipts with Advance Amount Paid acknowledgment

Whenever citizen advance or the excess amount which is more than the due amount, a citizen will receive payments receipt which specifies how much advance amount the city has paid.

Cap on Advance Payment

The citizen will be able to pay advances only 'X' times of his billing amount, where X is a configurable number which states can decide.

Modified DCB Report

The DCB report is modified to keep the account of Advance Payment at ULB or state level which will help ULB employees in multiple ways.
