AP prod servers network analysis report

Report Date: 2020-02-20 00:00 to 2020-02-20 22:15:36

There are five major resource areas that can cause bottlenecks and affect server performance:

Physical disk, Memory, Process, CPU, and Network.

IPv4 Packet Statistics:

Network used: 10Gbps MTU 1500 eth0

Standard Throughput: Single Virtual Machine Performance with 1500-byte Packets

Measured: packet per second (pps)

Calculation:

Speed = 10 Gbps

Bytes/Second = 1,250,000,000

Maximum PPS = 13,020,883

Trend (based on graphs): everyday between 10 AM to 1 PM & 2 PM to 4 PM

Ping Response:

The time (ms) at the end of each ping reply is the measured time that last packet took to get to the destination.

Good ping response: less than 20 ms

Bad ping response: greater than 150 ms (Noticeable lag or packet loss) (refer)

System Interrupts:

Interrupts/sec is the average rate, in incidents per second, at which the processor received and serviced hardware interrupts. This value is an indirect indicator of the activity of devices that generate interrupts, such as the system clock, the mouse, disk drivers, data communication lines, network interface cards, and other peripheral devices. The system clock typically interrupts the processor every 10 milliseconds, creating a background of interrupt activity. This counter displays the difference between the values observed in the last two samples, divided by the duration of the sample interval.

Linux based OS are interrupt driven.

Traffic:

Loopback: 10Mbps MTU 65536
Any traffic that a computer program sends on the loopback network is addressed to the same computer. The most commonly used IP address on the loopback network is 127.0.0.1 for IPv4 and ::1 for IPv6. The standard domain name for the address is localhost.
