Introduction

SSL is Secure Sockets Layer is an encryption based network security protocol developed for the assurance of privacy, authenticity and data integrity in internet communications.

This is a certificate that has to be provided by the state/client to us. It is manually configured/ installed wherever required.

Procedure

Ideally the domain name configuration and the SSL certification are to be obtained consecutively without fail from the state’s IT team.

In case the state agrees for us to complete this process on our end then we would have to follow the below mentioned steps.

In case the state/client agrees for us to do it then below are the mentioned steps to be followed:

  1. Deploy cert-manager - a service that can manage TLS certificate installation and its renewal.

  2. We use to get the TLS certification from the open-source authority which is “ letsencrypt “.

The steps to install/configure the certificate are to be provided by the state/client.

  1. Do not deploy cert-manager

  2. Create a TLS secret with the provided TLS cert and key.
